My friend's, Aunt Marion, Quilted into her 90's but she did not own any of her quilts. After she had passed away, the family did not share her gifts with the rest of the family. I made this quilt in memory of her Aunt Marion. It was made with her favorite colors in mind - shades of green.

Lauren's Birdie Quilt

This is the 2nd quilt I made. I used the 3 Dudes pattern and a fat quarter bundle from JoAnn's. The backing is leftover faux suede that I had used to cover some chair cushions for my daughter Lauren's living room. It's quite a bit thicker than regular quilting fabric, so instead of a regular binding, I just folded it over to the front of the quilt, folded it in about 3/8" and stitched it down. I was too dumb and inexperienced to know that's NOT how it's done, LOL! But Lauren loves it; it's very warm with that faux suede backing, and she's been using it a lot during this brutal New England winter!

Star Power

A few years ago, I watched Jenny Doan's "strip stars" on her Craftsy class "Quilting Quickly II", and made this quilt top. Rushing onto other projects, I finished it in December of 2014 for a terminally ill, but brave and amazing, young woman in Orlando, Florida.

Angel quilt

A dear friend of mine knew that I have quilted using hankies. She sent me approx. 6 hankies she had had as a child. They were all hand made for her to carry on special occasions. When I received them they just spoke to me and said they should be Angels. I also combined other hankies I had received and used some as background for decorative ones as well as plain ones. My friends name began with J as well as mine. So they became the first and last.

Irish Chain

I watched Jenny's Irish Chain tutorial on YouTube and wanted to try it. I had the Whistler Studio's Butter Pecan jellyroll for Windham Fabrics and thought it would be fun to try. I had enough solid fabric left to add a border. Very pleased with the result!

Springtime for Sarah

I made this for my daughter Sarah. I really enjoyed making the Disappearing Nine-Patch; it's one of my favorite patterns due to its versatility. It's also pretty easy; this was the third quilt I made. I cut a bundle of fat quarters into 5" charms and used the leftovers for the border; and I used a white jelly roll for the sashing.

Curvy log cabin
