A teacher friend of my husbands will be retiring soon and this “girly” quilt will be for her. This is the easiest way to make a charms on point quilt. Watch Jenny’s video it sure simplifies the process. This was quite fun and very easy. I pulled leftovers from my stash so I had plenty for the “piano key” border. I used a bright pink Minky on the back as it gets very cold in the winter here. I used a double heart edge to edge quilting pattern with a variegated thread in matching colors. The quilting really shows up on the white sashing and on the Minky.

Baby Miller

HSTs cut on my AccuQuilt from scraps and a few purchased FQs. I decided on a feature block pattern by moving the HSTs around and quickly decided I wasn’t patient enough to make all the blocks so detailed. So, 4 patches were added in between to get the quilt to a desired size. Machine embroidered a name and gifted to baby Miller at a fun family event.

Moda Love Star Baby Girl Quilt

Saw this cute Free Pattern from Moda. I use 1930’s fabrics from my stash and added the light gray dots for border and a pink ‘30’s for binding with a light pink Minky on the back. I used a simple all over daisy quilting pattern with a light pink thread. This quilt too is for one of the young Moms at church. This was a fun, quick, and easy quilt pattern. Will have to make more.

Stars over New Mexico

I created this quilt for my son. He had moved to New Mexico. However, it took me over 8 years because I first lost the pattern and then the quilt and then my son moved back. Thankfully with the help from a good friend and quilter I was able to finish this quilt. Welcome home son.

A Soldier's Journey

This quilt was made to honor my nephew when he retired from his many years of service. His countless trips overseas, including the Middle East. I transferred to fabric a picture of each of his assignments. I used his now retired uniforms to make the blocks. His patches and buttons to embellish the quilt. It took over a year to finish. It tells his story. I am so proud of him. I presented this to him at his retirement party.

Left Overs Baby Girl Quilt

The fabric line is Happiness Is Handmade by Lori Whitlock for Riley Blake. I’ve never tried this 9 patch wack n stack pattern before but turned out real cute. I had to double sash to get the minimum size I needed. I used a bright yellow Minky for the backing and a cute daisy quilting pattern. I used the rest of the left overs to make two burp cloths from leftover flannel. This too is for one of the young moms at church. I just added a darling picture of baby Bridget on her quilt.

used two panels as I wanted it larger, quilting windows 1/4” apart diagonally, my husband likes heavy quilting . I think it looks like sun rays . Then quilted stitch in the ditch on window frame. Quilting was done row by row then connected together .
