    Tiny Tulips Table Runner

    Decided to make a small version on my Tulip Time Table Runner. This one measures 26" x 10.5". I again used MSQC Tulip Fields Pattern only this time I used 2.5" squares instead 5" squares which I used in my larger table runner. Fabric: Grunge Basic Grey for Tulips, Shadow Play by Maywood Studio for leaves and binding, Robert Kaufman Kona Quilt Cotton in Natural for background and 8oz Cotton Natural color canvas painters tarp for backing.

    Soooooo ready for Spring! I made this table runner using MSQCs Tulip Fields tulips pattern, then alternated/flipped the tulips and put sashing in between each one. The flanged binding is one I recently learned how to make from Natalie's MSQC Final Stitch video, Episode 8: Machine Binding. Fabric: KimberBell basics for Maywood Studio and Kona Cotton Muslin color. The wavy quilting I did with my walking-foot.

    I had left over blocks from several lap quilts so I decided to create a table runner. The borders highlight my girlfriends love for her household pets and the backing is in blue and white with french titles for the flowers. She also loves all things "French" and Paris is her favorite city. It is also my first attempt at machine quilting with a new machine I have since my previous machine an Elna was on its last legs and there was no way to drop the feed dogs. It was also a creative use of scraps that I had from left over 10", 2 1/2" and 5" squares.

    This is a table topper I made for my Mom. She loves fall colors, so I chose Phenomenal Fall by Sandy Gervais for Moda. I used the "Lil' Twister" tool, from Country Schoolhouse Designs, to create the pinwheel blocks. The layout of the topper evolved as I went along. That happens a lot with me. The picture, taken with my phone, fails to show the true colors of the fabric. They are beautiful!
