I am use to instant gratification because when I start a project I usually work on it until it is finished. I signed up to do this BOM. It definitely got me to use my PATIENCE waiting to see what it would look like when you can only make one block a month. I did receive the instructions to finish by December but, I put it aside to work on my Christmas Projects. I just found it again in my UFO box and decided to finish it. Here it is. It was a lot of fun, I learned another way to make half square triangles and the colors really did work together. On the back I just used up some blocks that I had in my stash.

I used a pattern to make this little tulip quilt to hang on the wall in my entranceway. I wanted something cheerful and welcoming and this fit the bill. I used fabrics from my stash.

Disappearing 4-Patch Star - Block Magazine Spring Vol 3 Issue 2. I was never a fan of the star block. I just didn't see why other quilter like it so much. Well, now I understand. After I finished the One Star Block Pattern Quilt top - the lights went off in my head and I got it. This is such a powerful block. To compliment the American Theme, why not make 9 smaller ones for a quilt top? These are my favorites of this collection. What did I learn? 1. The smaller the block, the more detail and time it takes to finish. (( Well worth it. )) 2. Never ever buy cheap batting again. (( I was trying to stretch my dollar but the batting debris - UGH was more work than saving a couple pennies. )) THANK-YOU for sharing this experience with me. I had a lot of fun, feelings of accomplishment, this definitely fed my creative side. and it did not end up in my UFO'S. - I feel just amazing right now. ♪. . . hi.ho.hi.ho.hi.ho.hi.ho. . . . Super Simple Squares from Block Magazine Spring Vol. 4 issue 2. In doing my research, I fell in love with a picture of the Cub Scout carrying this quilt. It was simple but the cutest. I was not disappointed with my outcome. (( I have to admit, I want a challenge when i quilt, therefore, I am not always looking for an easy quilt to sew. )) i was surprised at my reaction on how much i like the pattern and the results. What did I learn? When Ironing, be careful not the stretch the block. It will pucker when you quilt your top. (( This led to a little late ripping but the results were worth it. )) The Scout Oath or Promise. To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
