A Special Quilt For A Very Dear Friend

My friend, Carol & I Survived so much together in our earlier years. This lap quilt is a special one just for her to curl up under it & a reminder of how much she means to me. The panel is by One Sister Designs for Henry Glass called My Back Porch as well as the other fabrics from that same line. I backed it with a silver Minky. The detailed quilting looks amazing. I made a matching pillow with a zipper on back with the left over flying geese.

Another Bingo Prize

My aunt runs a bingo game for the residents of a local personal care home. Lap quilts are the 'cover all' prize, so I am busy keeping her in prizes! This is a simple charms quilt, and I was able to practice my free-motion skills.

Weighted Blanket

Made for a friend with anxiety issues. I made one for my daughter also, and she loves it. It is made with 12 pounds of poly beads. 1/2 cup of beads per square. Not difficult, just a little tedious at times...have to be careful not to run over a bead when sewing!

Found this quilt online called 2-patch 4-patch. I had a partially used jellyroll of Hometown Girl, and with the background fabric, it made a nice size lap quilt, 50 x 68. Quilted by my wonderful longarmer, using Urban Elementz Panto called Disco. I love the colors in this, might have to keep this one.

Mary's Chemo Battle Quilt

This quilt was made for my best friend's mom who is currently fighting cervical cancer. The moment I heard I rushed to my local quilt shop and had the whole story rally behind me to pick the perfect pattern and fabric. Mary is a warrior and a strong woman of faith. Using the cross pattern and fabric, I felt was a great way to honor what is important to her and remind her of her faith during this difficult time.
