Buchanan True Lover's Knot
I made this as a wall hanging for my cousin's marriage. I found a block called True Lover's Knot and modified it some. The back is done in squares that I mailed to his family and her family and had each family member put a personal message on with fabric permanent marker. Eight squares were signed. The very middle square was embroidered using my machine with their names and wedding date, in a purple thread that matched their wedding colors. As they are just starting out, I kept the colors neutral; black, grey and white. It is reversible, with three loops coming up through the binding, instead of one side or the other. I ended up not actually quilting it, since it was smaller, and I didn't want to ruin any of the written messages.
