365 Challenge

I participated in the 365 Challenge and just finished quilting the project. Every day last year, we received block pattern from the Facebook called the 365 Challenge. The patterns came with a brief history of each pattern along with the origination date. Many of the dates ranged from the mid 1800s to mid 1900s. Some were original designs by the Australian moderator. The blocks were 3 1/2" and 6 1/2" in size. The middle block was 18" and the four flower corners measure 12". The finished size is 90" square. Although it was hard to get the whole quilt in the picture, you can see most of the quilt. It was a fun project, but I am so glad it is over! The Missouri Star sponsored one of the weekly prize drawings.

Paris Flea Market Shabby Chic

I fell in love with this fabric collection when it came out several years ago. I bought layer cakes and coordinates and never got the time to put it together. I had clearly in my mind what it would look like when finished, and in a marathon several days in January, the vision became a reality. It is such a delicate fabric, it called for a very feminine scalloped border, my first using the Quilt In A Day Scallops and Vines ruler. I used Jenny's tutorial on making continuous bias binding. Love it!

Rose Dresden Plate Quilt

I never thought I would make a Dresden plate quilt, but I was watching the tutorial with Jenny on how to make the Dresden plate quilt and I thought; oh I'm going to try that and I already had fabric in my stash to use. So first I made a sample block to see if I really could make it. LOL Once I was successful with the sample block then I got out my rose and brown coordinating prints and starting making some blocks, everything started coming together and I sure enjoyed making this quilt. This quilt is one of my favorite quilts I have made.

I was watching Jenny and one of her tutorials one day while I was sewing, and she was making a disappearing pinwheel. I thought I need to try that. So I stopped sewing on my current project, found some fabric in my stash, and followed along with the tutorial, I thought it was so fun to make this quilt with Jenny. LOL. I added borders and made it a queen size quilt.
