Mark and Valerie's baby quilt

Two of my co-workers who married awhile back are having a baby! I had made them a wedding quilt so I wanted to make a baby quilt. Jenny came up with a pattern that I decided to use, 9-Patch Swap. It was for a larger size, so I sized it downwards and used charm packs. It came together quickly and I gifted it today, along with the Missouri Star Quacking Bird I'd received in a delivery. Mark and Valerie love the quilt.

This was my immediate plan when I watched Jenny's tutorial for the Dizzy Daisies. Bright fabrics on a crisp white background! I quilted different flower styles in the pinks and oranges and did vines with leaves on the vertical sashing. Horizontal sashing got rows of little flowers.

Falling Charms Plus

My friends daughter is having the families first grandchild. I wanted a very special quilt for this precious girl. I had lots of charm packs so decided why not. Then I though I need to add something. So I added and extra set of strips. Part way through I decided she needs a pillow for the rocking chair. I made an envelope pillow cover that the top was quilted. I always worry that people are just being polite about gifts. She loved it. She opened the package up and started crying. Worries over and I learned how to make a quilted envelope pillow cover to match the quilt.
