    I was at a quilt retreat and had brought many fabrics and ideas and decided on the tipsy tumble quilt. I got out my template and started cutting and about 3/4 of the way through I thought this doesn't look right. Welll...I had used the wacky web template instead. After muttering under my breath a "nasty" word, I remembered that Jenny said that any template would work. So I finished the top and added little kite tails and love it. Quilted with a stipple stitch and variegated thread, the back is spools of thread fabric and the binding was measure twice fabric.

    I bought this kit from my LQS (Hi Primitive Gatherings in Murrieta, CA!), b/c I fell in love with the store sample! This was my first time: using smallish HST units to make 6" blocks, fussy-cutting a panel, and quilting flannel. This was so fun, and I learned so much (esp. about how not to lose triangle points in seams-smh), I'm already planning another version!

When I resumed quilting I made this quilt for my son who waited patiently all those years for me to make him a quilt. It was expertly quilted by the Missouri Star Quilt Company.

    This pattern is the disappearing hour glass made in colors to match my sofa but when the blocks were finished the colors didn't look good together. I sashed each block in white to separate the colors a bit and it came together much better, however the block pattern seems to disappear all together!
