Little Charlie's Fast Four Patch

When one of your best friends has a baby and she's getting married in the same year, you make quilts. You can find my Night Sky quilt I made for Katie and her husband Andy for their wedding in my projects. However, I sort of feel like despite the fact the wedding was for his Mom and Dad, their son Charlie was born in February this year, and he deserved a wedding present too! So, I turned to a very easy pattern, the Fast Four Patch, and I did it in bright colors with Winnie the Pooh fabric to match his nursery.

Double Dipping w/ Pillow Case

Saw this Cozy Quits Design pattern in a tutorial on YouTube. Had some scrap fabrics in my stash. Created the two quilts specified in the pattern and went on to create a matching pillow case for one of them for my daughter. I had MSQC quilt these. They did a great job.

Blue quilt for neighbor's son

Update: I quilted with Urban Elementz Nemesh's Feather Grande design. I sewed the binding on and took to neighbor's house just in time to be loaded on the moving truck. ---- This is the fabric I picked out for my neighbor's son to piece a quilt while he was home from school because of virus (if he wanted to make one). His two sister's pieced their quilts and I quilted them (posted earlier). He didn't piece it. The family is moving away for a couple years for work, at the end of the month. I decided to make him this quilt. I used the charm on point pattern for the middle (8 x 16 squares), I placed the same fabric on the diagonal cut line, so the outer triangles would be the same fabric (same as border fabric). I added LeMoyne Stars (Lemon stars) to the top and bottom to make it a rectangular quilt. I had some charms left from the 4 charm packs that I had of Wilmington Essentials Sapphire Sky (Beautiful fabric), so I made four patches for the sides. 75" x 87"

Snowballs of Color

I found this pattern in the Fall/Winter 2011 issue of Quilt Sampler, Ultimate Shop Hop magazine. I was surprised to find such a colorful quilt when most of the quilts 10 years ago seemed to be of darker colors. I used Kaffe Fassett 5” charm squares along with remnants from my ever-growing stash. I also used bright yellow fabric for the backing and had it machine quilted at MSQC with bright yellow thread.

Charm on Point

This quilt will go to one of my friend's granddaughters. I loved the colors in this Benartex Liberty Garden Pink Favorites charm pack so much that this is the second charms on point quilt I made in this fabric. I donated the first one to my guild's silent auction. I changed the borders in this one and I placed the same charms along the cut path so the same fabric is on the edges. I made a doll quilt with some left over charm squares. I quilted it with a flower pattern called Daisy Marie. 60" x 60"

Another PInwheel Baby Quilt

My niece is expecting her first baby and her Mom, my sister-in-law reminded me that she loved Care Bears when she was younger! I’m so glad she did! I found flannel Care Bear fabric for the backing and cut out “Bear Squares” for the cornerstones between the sashing. I know she will love it : ) !

Table Topper

My husband asked me to make a table topper for a small table we purchased at a sale. I had a couple of free charm packs I’d received with a previous fabric order and decided they would fit the bill—and who doesn’t love stars! I lost a few of my points on a couple of the stars : ( but I think it’s a happy-looking little table topper regardless. I quilted it with wavy lines. My husband liked it : )

Pinwheel

I dipped into my UFO basket and pulled this out. Pieced in awhile ago, I started quilting it right before COVID blew up. Then I switched to masks, and after about 350 masks, was able to get back to quilting this. It's a nice lap, 42 x 52, and will go to the nursing home if we ever get back to normal.
