A baby Quilt called "Over the Trees" !

We have a friend at church that was kind of shy when she started coming to Marysville Foursquare. My wife Cathy, started talking to her and we finally got to be friends. Asked I her was it was a boy or a girl. It turned out to be a girl, but she was having a "Jungle theme" in the nursery. So i made this baby quilt full of Giraffe's . Here it is.

Spring Picnic Quilt

I started this project in February, but just finished it last week (end of July!). I was so sick of winter...I wanted a pretty spring quilt to put on my kitchen table to remind me that warm weather was coming. Well, it's here...with a week of above 100 degrees and I just finished this quilt for my table. Other projects booted this one to the end of the line, but I'm glad it's done. My kitchen looks so much better with this beautiful quilt.

Zippered pouch

I made these pouches as Christmas gifts to my friends at work. I got the pattern from the Moda website. They were so easy even though this was my first time sewing a zipper. I did them like an assembly line performing one step at a time. I had fun matching the zippers to the handles. My friends loved them!

Found some beautiful fabric that needed to be made into a quilt, but as I began figuring out which pattern to use, I discovered that there was very little contrast in any of the fabrics. Next time, find more contrasting fabric. But it's still pretty.

Tote bags

I made a couple tote bags which are a lot of fun. I used a wavy stitch instead of a straight stitch on the outside of the bag. I could definitely make more of these for gifts. I need to get in the habit of when I order a charm pack that I like that I also order coordinating fabric to go with it. Multiple times I order some charm packs not knowing what the project is going to be and don't always have everything on hand when I start a project.

My niece from Indiana came to visit Oregon and remarked on my tote bag I made from Jenny and Vanessa tutorial. As soon as they headed back home I started in. Love the batiks. Made two little Bear Claws for the little boys and they are expecting a baby girl and baby boy in the next couple of months. Thank you for such fun as creating with fabric.
