I have twenty-six grandchildren, 13 boys and 13 girls. For each I made receiving blankets from flannel and then crochet around the edge. I kept the scrapes from those blankets. Now the great grandchildren are coming and here is what I am making for them. Taking the scrapes that were from that grandchild and cutting hearts and appliqueing them on the flannel charm packs I can get at Missouri Star Quilts.

"Sports" Baby Boy Quilt

Needed a baby boy quilt for sports enthusiastic parents. Riley Blake's "Play Ball" fabric line was perfect. I used my quick Mode Love Star Free Pattern and backed it with a blue pre-washed flannel with light blue thread for the quilting in stars & swirls. I used the stripe fabric for the star's center legs. I'm making two burp cloths with the left overs.

Twins ~ A Boy Quilt

This is the matching quilt to the girl Twin. The Mode Love Star goes together so quickly. I made this set of twin quilts together. It really went much faster. The fabric is Doodle Pop by Lori Woods exclusively for Missouri Star Quilt Company. I also made two matching burp cloths and lines it with a cute flannel dots.

Baby Quilt from Wedding Dress

I was commissioned to make a girl's baby quilt from a woman's wedding dress and pink fabrics. The dress was embellished with pearl beads and sequins, so they had to be removed before cutting was done. It went together very well, and I layered it with cotton batting and backed it with wonderful pink Minky. It will be cherished forever, even though not a very practical quilt to use daily.

A New Era

This quilt was made for a young man I had worked with and his wife on the birth of their first child...a little boy. They are avid University of Georgia fans (the wife graduated from UGA). This past December, a change was made to the university's football coach as the AD hired a popular alumni as their head coach (hence the name "A New Era). I wanted to give the young couple something that I hope would remain special to them.

A quilt for baby Vincent.

I made this quilt for a little guy named Vincent. He is the great grandson of my very favorite Uncle Jim. I did it in the block style which was my Uncle's favorite quilt block. Uncle Jim passed away in 2008 and he never got to see Vincent, so I hope the quilt sends some love to Vincent from his great grandpa Jim.
