I used my embroidery machine to find designs and then used my letters to write verses on many of them This one however is just some cloud print material from another art project I did sometime back.. I used a light stabilizer and then quilt batting to make things seem more 3 D. Once the back hoop was on and all centered and tight I trimmed the stabilizer and batting over flow. Then to make those trimmed edges smooth I used Elmer glue to put rick rack around those edges. It works well to get about the circles as you have play with V design of the rick Rack. I have this verse on another small wall hanging I purchased many years ago, a favorite. By caf7carq 3 LIKES | 442 VIEWS Embroidery hoops Here is another of coffe cups. This is my personal favorite so may not use it as gift. I pretty sure it will hang on my own wall somewhere. By caf7carq 7 LIKES | 463 VIEWS The Pinwheel Heart I bought the Cutie Patootie panel because it reminded me of me. I couldn't work with it for years because it triggered too many uncomfortable feelings. I finally started working on it. I got it done. Then I cut it all apart. Then I put it back together. I added blue ribbons because they are one of the symbols for Child Abuse Prevention Awareness. I actually used fabric with monster eyes because there were definitely monsters. I added the characters from "Inside Out" because I had a lot of conflicting emotions. Something was missing though. I decided that all survivors deserved a medal. I created The Pinwheel Heart Medal of Honor. The Blue Pinwheel because blue pinwheel gardens are "planted" in April for National Child Abuse Prevention month. Honor because shame is such a challenge. I added Thriver because I aspire to be a thriver. I donated the finished quilt to Synergy Services. Backed them with stash of my Green Bay Packer material that I still have much of. These are tagged for the church sale held this last weekend. $10. but didn't sell sadly. I titled my quilt "Kiss 'n Teal me If He Loves Me or He Loves Me Not". For the background I chose to use the "Charm Quilt on Point Tutorial" I made the squares 3" instead of 5" to keep within the size parameters. I won a blue ribbon! By FabricFan 22 LIKES | 810 VIEWS Magnolia I like to combine my love of fabrics with my love of photography and gardening. This was an art quilt inspired by a photo of a magnolia blossom growing in my garden. It is hand and free motion quilted. I submitted it to Quilting Arts Magazine for one of the challenges and it was published. I was thrilled! Used 'fabric magic' to add texture to headdress, dress and jewelry. By kopjo01 15 LIKES | 819 VIEWS Halloween Haunted House I paper pieced this panel from a kit to sell at our quilt show boutique. Another guild member quilted it. I had not done much paper piecing so it was good practice. i think it is very cute. By vvvvickie 5 LIKES | 861 VIEWS Summer Fruit Salad I tried some English paper piecing. This pattern was purchased at a guild meeting and altered to fit my needs. Machine quilting rather than hand piecing. I decided to use some charm squares that had been patiently waiting in a basket and went shopping for a solid ombré fabric at my local quilt shop. It was a fun, quick project and the first to be completed in 2019! The pattern uses one half of a Kona jelly roll and background yardage to create this stunning design. This pattern is for sale in my pattern shop: http://bit.ly/ShopBusyHandsPatterns By BusyHandsQuilts 16 LIKES | 1156 VIEWS Octopus’ Garden First attempt free motion quilting a real project By chughes 6 LIKES | 861 VIEWS bougainvillea wall hanging I took a photo from my garden and had it made into a fabric panel (at spoon flower). I then quilted it TO DEATH. I used double batting and 6 different colors of thread. I could not rip out mistakes because it left terrible marks in the fabric so it was a one shot wonder. Kind a cool look, almost 3D. It was a fun way to practice FMQ, but the pebbles were a bit tiring, There is so much thread in this that it can stand up on its own..... By Jillane 20 LIKES | 867 VIEWS Ella In 2018 one of my resolutions was to sew all my quilts that year from fabric in my stash. I was more successful than I expected and it really wasn't that hard to do. "Ella" was the last quilt pieced in 2018 and came from my stash of batiks. I had a large number of cream batik 4" squares that I had cut for another quilt and the other batiks had been collected over the past 6-8 years. The pattern called for using charm squares but I changed all the squares to 4". By ckg246 13 LIKES | 860 VIEWS «12345678...1213»
