As a busy wife, mom, and nurse, quilting is my stress relief! I have been quilting since childhood, when I made my first doll quilt with my grandma. I now quilt with my mom and two sisters. I like modern scrappy mixed with traditional blocks.

Charley Harper Quilt for Homesick Mom
Soon after I learned to quilt, I was eager to make one for my mom, and I was so inspired by this line of fabric from Charley Harper. Mom lives in Australia, and she misses little american creatures like squirrels and cardinal. I was still very new at free motion quilting when I did this, so it's not as tidy as I'd like.

Scrappy Spiral
I loved a project I saw online using scrappy strips and basic foundation piecing and replicated it almost exactly. I thought it just begged for a huge spiral quilting design, which I've always wanted to try. I think I may be a terrible person, though, using this pattern intended for charity quilts for kids on a quilt I loved so much I kept for myself!

Wild Dresden Coin
I love bright colors and wild prints just as much as I love more traditional collections. I purchased two layer cakes just waiting on the perfect pattern and found it in the Dresden Coin. I did make mine longer than the MSQC video instructs. This will fit a full size bed with plenty of drop on each side. My only problem now is that all of my daughters love this quilt and are begging me for it. :)

Home Sweet Home
This is the quilt everybody at my house fights over! My quilt guild did a block exchange using the "Dwell" pattern by Camille Roskelley. I added the road and love how it changes the look of the entire quilt. I used fabric from the Hometown collection (Moda) for the road and it was absolutely perfect. I had four extra blocks and put them on the back with red minky. I also love the scrappy border. I kept the machine quilting minimal so it would be extra soft and cuddly. (Completed: 2014)
