I hand pieced this miniature. It's 18.5" x 18.5". Also hand quilted. I entered this quilt in Sauders Quilt Show in Archbold Ohio and received a third place. The hand piecing is done using a running stitch. The stitching lines were provided by Inklingo

Tumbling Blocks

This is the 1st quilt I ever attempted to make. It is a wall hanging. For many years it was a UFO, sitting sandwiched in a box. I was going to try to hand quilt it but I got carpal tunnel and was not able to do it. I felt bad that the quilt was sitting in a box for so long. I took it to my favorite quilt shop and had it quilted. I am very happy with the pattern and thread that i allowed the long arm quilter choose for me.

ymi blue

I saw this 'Y' quilt pattern online, and had to have it. After cutting several different versions in many different fabrics, I decided to go with the blue/gray combination. It took several days of arranging and rearranging before I found the visual that was most pleasing to me. I entered this into the local county fair in 2014. While I didn't win any awards from the judges, I did win 'viewer's choice' with this wall hanging.

The politics of pondlife

This is another hexie quilt that started with the multiprint background. I saw that fabric and was sure it would make some interesting hexagons. After I cut and placed the hexies, my first thought was that they looked like algae. So I found some nice matching fabric in my stash, and built some blocks to sit in the algae/pond. Then all I needed was some froggies to finish it out. My very kind and giving brother in law saw the photo of the finished project and proclaimed himself in love. He is now a proud owner of 'the politics of pondlife'.

Stairway to Heaven

When he was younger and still living at home, my son and I used to enjoy playing music together. He played guitar and I played the keyboard. Our favorite song was Stairway to Heaven. He asked me if I would make a wall hanging for him and so to honor his 49th birthday I made this for him as a memorial to those great musical times we had together. I love to quilt, really love whole cloth quilts and am mesmerized by Zentangle. This is a combination of all three and a lot of love. I have to say, stitching with heavy black thread on cream fabric was more than a little daunting!

Rainbow String Quilt

This was my first string quilt, made entirely from scraps. My scraps are sorted by color, so it was easy to create blocks by color. I didn't have a plan when I started making the blocks;I was simply experimenting with foundation piecing. This quilt makes me smile every time I look at it; of dozens of quilts I've made in the past three years, it's by far my fave! It hangs in my sewing room.

Peacock Wall Hanging

One of my dear friend's maiden name is Peacock. She collects peacocks, so when I found the peacock panel,I knew I had to make her a quilt! This was my first attempt at mitered borders. By the time I got around to the fourth miter, I did pretty well!

Pine Forest

When we lived in England in 1988, my parents and I made an excursion to visit the place where my father's family lived after 1066 AD. We went to a service at the local church, and some people we met in church invited us to come visit them. I made this quilt as a gift to thank them after we moved back to the U.S. 1990.

La Cucaracha

This was a small wall quilt I made a few years ago for a quilt challenge my guild had. The inner border was the challenge fabric. We had to use five fabrics, including the challenge fabric. Size was specified. Embroidery and embellishments were allowed. I appliquéd the (pardon me) cockroach, sombrero and letters and added googly eyes, and spangles for castanets.

Misty's Windy Day

This was a BOM at Whimsy Cottage when it was in Heber City, Utah, finished 2002. To avoid making the paper-pieced block, I appliquéd our standard poodle, Misty, in the block that was supposed to be a paper-pieced dog. I have since learned to love paper-piecing, and Misty is no longer with us, having gone to chase rabbits in Heaven

Quilt on My Mantle

This came from the "Home Sweet Home" book. I picked my three favorite blocks and added a braid border, because I wanted to use a lot of fabrics in it, and the swag border would have been too big for the space.
