I showed my friend the train quilt I had made for my son. She told me her brother really liked trains also and asked if I would make a quilt for him. I found more train quilt squares on Ebay and made this quilt for him.

My son is a conductor, dispatcher and engineer for a private railroad. He has always loved trains. I found these quilt squares on Ebay and made this quilt. He is also a talented artist and I printed some of his drawings on muslin and sewed them to the back of the quilt.

Candy Heart Wall Hanging

The "Love is in the Air Wall Hanging" design fro Missouri Star Block Magazine Winter, Volume 2, Issue 1, was a great pattern for my candy heart wall hanging. I used some of the layer cake fabrics from Michael Miller's Modern Basics and various coordinated yardage. The pattern features applique techniques. In the same magazine, there is also a section called "How to Applique" on pages 88-89 which offers helpful tips. I used the Quilt in a Day template for making vines to complete my border. It is a fun project and a great present for that special someone.

Kamp KIwani WIT Wall Hanging

One of our Girls Scout camps has a horse program. A few years ago, they re-started their WIT (Wrangler-in-Training) Program. The girls go through 2 summers in order to complete/graduate from the program. Both of my daughters have graduated. I wanted to make something to hang in the cabin they live in during their time at camp. I came up with this idea. Each year the girls graduate, the group picks a horse on the hanging and signs their "camp name" on it. The year of the graduates is written on the horse also. There are enough horses to last for about 17 years of graduates.

Snowflake Wallhanging/Tablerunner

This is a Judy Neimeyer Paperpieced Pattern. I took a class to make this. The pattern was quite challenging, and I never could have done it without the class. Each spoke on the snowflake has 18 pieces X 8 spokes equals 144 pieces in each flake! Quite a challenge, but lots of fun to watch it all come together.
