Hurricane Irma had hit Florida, after Hurricane Harvey flooded Houston. I found MSQC Harvey Relief email in my Junk email. I decided to get a late start and see how many Pillow Cases I could get made. I thought this would be a great time to use up some of those scraps that I have been collecting. I was having a blast. I stuck to same color theme for each pillow but the down side was that I could only get 2 done a day. After eight pillow cases and making no progress, I decided to use a pattern that said a 9 patch for a quilt. I took the dimensions and made them smaller for a pillow case. This helped a lot because I was able to make 4 in one night. There was no deadline in the email but I wanted to get them done. Therefore, I decided to make the Easy Tube Pillow Case Method. I couldn't believe the difference I was able to cut and sew 14 pillow cases in 2 days. I just got back from the Post Office and they are on there way to MSQC to help our fellow Americans. Sending Prayers, too.

Ok, this is my first quilt block and it took many years to get to this point seeing as I am 62 and just starting to Quilt. Well they is not entirely correct. I first started on a long arm I had bought for my wife. I ended up doing the quilting and my wife did the tops. It seemed like we were having ummm, discussions on how I would do the quilting. While not wanting to disappoint my wife, I was not having the creative freedom I was looking for. So I started piecing and we allowed ourselves creative input on each other projects but the owner had final say. Peace was had for all. The picture is my very first quilt block.
