Allietare Mystery Quilt by Bonnie Hunter

I have started the Allietare Mystery Quilt by Bonnie Hunter. The first clue prescribes half square triangles, and I chose a blueish gray fabric with a bit of shimmer and a very pale pink. The pink looks almost cream in some lights, but it is definitely a soft pink. I am taking a little different approach with the fabric selection. Rather than picking it all up front, I am letting each clue inspire me. I can't wait for the next clue due for release on Friday.

Alaskan Bursts

This quilt was made for a friend that lives in Alaska and loves the wild life. It is a Judy Niemeyer pattern but I changed the sun bursts into areas for the animals and sea life.

Marcia's Scraps

This is a free pattern on Pat Sloan's website. I started last year and just kept feeling it needed something else. Finally it hit me, it needed an appliqué boarder! So it took awhile longer to get it done. But it is now done and I am pleased with it. I used all scraps to make it, including the backing.

T-Shirt Quilt

Nick's Maze

This pattern looked like the perfect one for my grandson. The tan fabric is the walkway, the light blue is the wall and the dark blue is the wall shadow. It was so much fun to make, following the path as I finished each block. It really works and goes back and forth thru most of the quilt.

Log Cabin Variant

No real story, flipping through old quilting magazines one day, I came across this pattern and HAD to do it. It's not quilted yet. In the upper left-hand corner, you'll see a block turned the wrong way. Luckily I hadn't quilted the top when I saw it. It has since been unsewn and turned the right way.

Originally made this for my nephew, he lives on a farm in a log cabin, hence the outside squares. It was a pattern in a book, not my design. I can't remember which book it was in. It's double bed size, and hand quilted.

Peggy's Quilt #7 - Chickadee Window

This is my seventh quilt and first kit. I bought the kit because it was so darned cute and I wanted to try the flying geese and other interesting borders. The quilt was designed by Jackie Robinson (Jackie's Animas Quilts) using the Chickadees & Berries fabric collection by Jackie Robinson and Benartex. I started machine-piecing the top on August 11, 2015 and finished the kit on September 1st. Then I realized that 63"x63" is not large enough for a full-sized bed quilt. I went back to Gossypium Quilt Shop and bought enough additional yardage for 3 more borders, so now it's 80x80". Lyn Durbin did the FMLAQ, and I finished the binding on November 12, 2015. I also made a set of 4 pillow cases to match. I love quilting! Peggy
