This started out as a Pat Sloan BOM which introduced me to techniques I had never tried before (applique, etc). So now I was hooked on trying new techniques and ended up using those trial blocks in this quilt. The result is what I've put together in my black and white sampler.

Star Wars

After a recent family tragedy, my 8 year old grandson asked for a Star Wars quilt. I quickly found some material and put this quilt together. Using a panel for the center surronded by stars, I can't wait to give it to him. The back is 4 big pieces of Star Wars fabric.

Sashed Cross Hatch

My husband wanted a quilt large enough to cuddle under for his 6’3” height. I used an Amy Smart pattern called Cross Hatch and then added more sashing. I used a Moda layer cake called Homegrown. I used my walking foot to quilt all the sashing and borders, and free motion quilted the triangles with a ruler.

Churn Dash Quilt

I started this in 2017, and had it almost quilted when I fell in Febrary of this year (2018) I had 3 breaks in my ankle area, had fracture blisters which complicated things greatly. I had a big wound develpe and was not allowed to put weight on my foot till in May. I did finish quilting it by using my left foot, but waited till after I was back on my feet to do the binding. Mermaid Dreams

We started something...now the grandkids are in line waiting for their quilt from Mimi & Baba! This girl loves mermaids! Took awhile to find the right mermaid fabric, but finally found Mermaid Dreams Studio E right here at MSQ! The backing is a digital print from. spoonflower..a bit pricey but provided the perfect backing for this quilt! Again we use the patter Impurchased from anEtsy shop called Artistry With Fabric.
