When my girls were little I started making a quilt from my husband's old shirts and left over fabrics from curtains and clothing I had made, and any other scraps I had. This was over 25 years ago. The half completed blocks, stored away in a tote moved with us 5 times. Finally in 2017 i finished them. I don't know what I was thinking because I had 108 blocks started for a double size bed. I decided to split them and make two quilts, one for each of my daughter. A memory quilt. The front is a lot cabin pattern and the back is a disappearing 9 patch, with huge 12"square patches.

Row By Row 2015 #2

I traveled to Florida in 2015 for my birthday to visit my daughter. We drove over 200 miles collecting the Row by Row quilt patterns and a lot of fabric. I finished two quilts for my two daughters for Christmas 2016. This is the second quilt.

Fishy snowball and 4 patch quilt

I made this quilt for my grandson-in-law when he graduated from college. He loved to fish. I used the snowball and 4 patch pattern from Missouri Star Quilts. I embroidered the snowball blocks before sizing them for the quilt. The embroidery design is from Embroidery Library.

Daughter's Love

I made this quilt for my son who is a veteran. He had to be away from his daughters and he missed them very much. I had their mother trace their handprints and send them to me. I had a layer cake of wooly flannel that I had been saving. I ordered a little extra and made a large quilt for him out of squares. Then I appliqued three sets of his daughter's handprints onto the cover. I backed it in red and black plaid fleece. Red is his favorite color and I wanted the quilt to be really warm. It was quilted with an overall meander and gifted in April 2018.

Wedding Quilt for Derek

I wanted to make a wedding quilt for a young man who we consider a son. He is an avid outdoorsman so I knew I had to find just the right fabric. I was happy to find the River Journey line and pair it with a brown solid. I made HST (4/layer cake pair) so the prints would show up. I had it quilted by a local quilter in an acorn and leaf motif. I just loved how it turned out. I found a dark brown batik for the back that brought in the browns from the front. It was gifted in 7/20/2017

Half and Half Christmas Quilt

I wanted to make a masculine quilt for my son for Christmas. I happened to find two very similar Christmas prints that included deer, red, black, and green (his favorite colors). I loved Jenny's Half and Half tutorial so instead of using a solid and a print I used both of the prints. I added a small inner border and larger outer border. Since it was so large I had it quilted by a local quilt shop. I wasn't sure it worked but my son loved it, which is what counted in the end.

Leaves are Falling

A scrappy quilt for my fall room. My favorite time of year. Had lots and lots of scraps and this quilt wanted to be "born" I found a maple leaf pattern in size I was needing. Copied and pasted onto a cereal box, cut it out. Used this as my template to cut 100 leaves out of my leftovers. I spray basted the back of each leaf and put it on a square. I then edged stitched all around the outside, and then did some veining to hold it down. I quilted each square first then added the sashing strips to complete the top. Each block is a 20 inch square.

Dad's Neckties Quilt

Mom kept all of dad's ties after he passed away, intending to do something with them. Unfortunately, she passed away a year ago, so I grabbed the container of ties, and decided to do something with them. After finishing this quilt, I "auctioned" it between the siblings with the proceeds going to dad's favorite charity - SAT 7.

JB's Benefit Quilt

A friend and coworker of mine was recently diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumors- a pervasive type of cancer. He is 38 years old and he and his wife are parents to 5 year old triplets. My mother, our friend, Carol, and I created this quilt to be raffled off to raise money for JB and his family. I'm thrilled with how it turned out! The colors are amazing! The quilt is approximately 97x97.

BIG STAR QUILT

I first saw this Star pattern om MSQC some years ago. I had been touched by several family members and friend who have suffered or are going through cancer treatments so I decided that I would make this beautiful quilt for the charity associated with "Relay for Life". I made the quilt and had it professionally quilted by our local quilter who also donated her time & quilting. Thanks Jan. It was gratefully accepted and raffled raising funds for the cause.
