    Our local hospice lost their beautiful building and had to move into rooms at the hospital that are stark white and not cozy at all. Our guild is making bed runners to perk up the rooms (don't know why they can't take quilts, but they can't) I made this one from vintage panels and backing, with modern border fabrics. Quilted myself.

    Using scraps and many white on white fabrics I created this baby quilt for a new grand niece or nephew on the way. I liked to use black and white dots because babies like that and are attracted to the contrast. The block is a basic log cabin with a white side and a bright side.

    My Hapi Quilt

    My Hapi Quilt uses a Stacks and Stacks Quilt Block example that I found in a magazine. I wanted to whittle down my growing stash. The idea allows for taking any of your leftover fabrics from other projects, even down to a one or two inch piece. Each block measures 9 1/2 inches by 9 1/2 inches. The center of each block is a half square triangle. I tried to make these with the same fabrics for continuity. The sashes and borders were also from my stash. I was gratified to see it all come together as I stitched the blocks. The quilt fits a twin or full size bed. Upon completion, I noticed that the block and quilt formed an "H", hence the name "Hapi Quilt."

    I received this tutorial in my email. To my amazement, I had made my quilting mentor, Fran a quilt with this collection - Robert Kaufman imperial Collection. Would you believe that this month is her birthday. I had to buy the kit and make it. It took me one day to cut it out and another day to sew it. Today she got her gift and was thrilled. This would be a great way to use up any panels that you have in your stash. May you have a fun time stash busting.

Our group of 4 ladies who work on quilts of valor heard of a veteran who is in very failing health, so we put this one together in record time using one of Jenny's tutorials and my fabric stash. I didn't get a picture after it was bound, we needed to ship it out quickly.
