My eight year old granddaughter wanted a quilt with the "Disney Frozen" theme. I purchased the large Frozen sisters panel and designed it by piecing squares in the corners and complementary fabrics bordered the quilt top. For the backing, I used pink flannel Frozen fabric, then used straight line and serpentine stitches on my domestic machine. I used the free motion feature to outline the panel figures. Taking a class at a nearby quilting shop, watching several videos on-line, and practicing helped. It was my first large quilt that I attempted to quilt myself. She was thrilled with her very own Elsa and Anna Christmas quilt.

Doll in dress made from antique quilt

Playful Pink Packaderms

This is a "For pay" quilt. A gift for the "friend of a friend"! I was told to "Have fun, I trust you!" when I did the design interview. That can prove to be a dangerous thing to tell me! The pink elephants appliques were each given a bit of whimsy after being outlined. Some are wearing hats, others have flowers, magic wands, or are squirting water from their trunks. I did free motion Apple Blossoms in the solid blocks and arc quilting in the pinwheels. The grey blocks and borders have cursive letters written in them.
