If You Go Out in The Woods Today

This is my second attempt at appliqué. This flannel quilt is made from left overs from another project. I saw similar bears and trees and moose in magazine and tried my best to draw them as I am not an artist they are just similar to the original animals. I thought since they needed light to prowl in the darkness I had better frame them with stars so designed star blocks to frame them. This lap quilt will be for snuggling up in when we are camping in our fifth wheel.

Inspired by Pinterest, Modified by Me !!!

I do love looking at the quilts that other people make, on this "Quilts by Me" site and on Pinterest. I am always looking for inspiration that will take me out of my comfort zone - traditional piecing methods. A month ago, I was looking for a twist on the typical Dresden plate quilt -- they kinda always look the same! When I saw a photo of someone else's rendition of the Dresden plate quilt, I knew I found the 'model' from which I would devise an original creation by me! The last photo is the photo that I saw on Pinterest. The brown/beige/red/green quilt is the one I made after finding this lovely pattern.

Summer Sampler

I made this sampler quilt during a local quilting class over several weeks. Making the sampler quilt was interesting and fun because we made a different block each week. The binding was made from different fabric scraps which gives the quilt a unique look. It was a gift to my mother who lives in Arizona.

Sunny skies A MSQC pattern

This is a MSQC pattern called Sunny skies. It was fun to make and not hard. Bought the fabric here in Sweden and managed to ran out on the orange fabric. It where no were to buy it here. So I ended up contacting the designer, Mary Koval in the USA and she sold me the fabric I needed to complet the quilt. So this one is rather special to me.

Blossom Tots for a Little ToT named Mckenna

She was just 5 when we met the family and have spent many years with our friends. When we met Mckenna kept telling us she was a fairy, so my wife and I got going. We made a quilt a little less than a lap quilt. She never let go. This June she was graduating from High School. She sent me an email and said " I still have it and my little girl with "share it with me" That made my day.
