Doll Quilt for Emma

My sweet little grand daughter loves her baby dolls. I saw Jenny's Doll quilt and made this one for her. I made a matching pillow, dolly receiving blanket and a diaper bag. The fabric for the diaper bag is a double sided, pre quilted flannel that I had used to make (her Mom) my daughter, dolly items when she was two. So glad that I saved the fabric all these years.

Our first granddaughter is coming!

We are so excited to welcome our first grand child into the world in about mid-August. I've been busy sewing lots of things including these two quilts. The theme of the baby's room is Jungle animals. Got this fabric from JoAnn's. One is a panel. Both are backed w/ Minky. The stuffed animals were made from patterns I got online from a company called DIY Fluffies. They weren't easy. I'm likely to purchase this child real elephants and giraffes than to make them again. Then, I made two crib sheets. All in all, they came out very cute, if I do say so myself.

Jelly Roll Race, by two

With two babies due in my friendship circle, I decided to use a single jelly roll, but create two different baby quilts. I sewed the entire jelly roll into a JRR top, and then cut it into strips. Some I separated again, and used as blocks in a QAYG quilt (quilting on my embroidery machine). The other was left as strips, sashed, and quilted with simple wavy lines. The left overs will be made into doll quilts for a local children's charity.

JACOB'S LADDER MEMORY QUILT (1 OF 6) I'm helping my friend piece quilts for her longarm quilting business. A family wanted six memory quilts made out of their fathers/grandfathers shirts. The plaid fabric is a flannel shirt in this quilt. My friend lets me use her longarm and will quilt for me in return. It's a win/win for both of us. :-)

Fast baby quilt, tied, not quilted, with cotton top and fleece backing -- no batting. I tie my quilts so that the ties don't show on the top. I made this 7 years ago. More contrast for the brown fabrics would have shown off the design better, but finished is better than perfect!

My husband was the ROTC Commander and this is one of his cadet’s. That got married and now they are having they’re first baby. He is a pilot and she is a second grade teacher. I tried to combine both professions. I also sent the dr. Seuss book, oh the places you will go since they are in the military, they will move a lot. This pattern came out of the baby block book vol 5 issue 1 2018.

Woodland Creatures baby quilt

The two panels (and the center of the tree) were Row by Row kits in 2016, produced by Cary Quilting Co. I bought them with the intention of putting them together, and they've been hanging out in the to-do pile for a while. A co-worker announced that his wife was having their first child - a girl. I asked, and was told the theme was "woodland creatures." I immediately thought of this. I appliqued everything and put some additional borders on to keep it from being too skinny.I quilted it myself. The couple really liked this gift for their baby.

Baby Miller

HSTs cut on my AccuQuilt from scraps and a few purchased FQs. I decided on a feature block pattern by moving the HSTs around and quickly decided I wasn’t patient enough to make all the blocks so detailed. So, 4 patches were added in between to get the quilt to a desired size. Machine embroidered a name and gifted to baby Miller at a fun family event.
