Southwest Memories

I saw this quilt in Southwest Decoratives' catalog back in the 90's and fell in love. When I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, I found the store and drooled over the quilt. It wasn't until I moved back to Virginia, and was visiting in 2006 that I bought the quilt kit and pattern. It took me another few years to have the confidence to make it. I jumped in and did. I love it!! It's one of my favorite quilts. It hangs in my living room so I get to see it every day.

Honor a Veteran. Honor Flight Lap Quilt

My guild participated in an honor flight project design to give a large lap quilt to every veteran returning from a specific honor flight to DC. I wanted to participate so decided to expand on a class project I needed to make. We were asked to use patriotic colors. I used materials from my stash for all but the outer border and backing. This is a small way to honor someone who has served our country. I'm grateful and happy to participate.

Got the Blues?

Adaptation of log cabin quilt, inspired by a photo I saw somewhere! Four squares joined together by bolder prints crossing in the middle. I wanted to elongate the quilt as it was square, thus the added strips at the top and bottom. Not yet quilted but backing is smaller flowers across center quilt and binding a small white swirl print, part of the collection but not used in the quilt.
