My granddaughter loves the color purple so this will be her for bedroom wall By Magnoliabelle 2 LIKES | 938 VIEWS Weighted Pincushion w/Scrap Bag I saw the tutorial from Rob Appell of Man Sewing and knew I had to make one. I used some fabric I bought online (Not MSQC!) that I knew I was not going to use for quilting. It feels like outdoor fabric with some kind of stain resistant coating on it and look at the size of those polka dots! Rob used boneing around the edge of the scrap bag but made a really helpful suggestion on using strapping from warehouse packaging. I can get that every night free at work so I used it and it worked perfectly. Ordered the crushed walnut shells from MSQC and knocked it out quickly. This was my test bag so I used white thread and once it was done and I loved it I wished I had used red. Will be making one for each of my machines. I have no friends or relatives still living who sew at all so no one else to make one for as a gift. I didn't use a different fabric for the inside as Rob did but I really wanted to just see if I could make one first. Consider this a test and I love it warts and all! I am already using it by putting my clipped threads in. No that is not a nest, it is really thread garbage. I end up with bags of "scraps" and enjoy trying to put them together. This was made from Jenny's Half Square Triangle tutorial but using 3" squares. This quilt was made exclusively from yardage using templates. The machine quilter embroidered the quilt label information in a corner on the front side.
