This is a quilt I put together for my Step Daughter who is having a baby. I'm a novice quilter, but I quilted it myself. The flannel on the back of the quilt should be comfy cozy for the sweet baby boy to lay on :)

Big Star

I fell in love with this beautiful, subtle Holiday print called Pine Fresh by Sandy Gervais for Moda and for the Big Star quilt in Block Magazine. I knew my son would love this fabric as the pine cones would help him remember our many vacations when he and his sister were little. Going to the mountains was always a favorite time and wouldn't it be nice to take a nap some winter day under a warm quilt? It was a birthday surprise and he loved it!

Winter Stars

Shades of blue and snowy prints were used to make this quilt. Each block is 12": a different traditional star block takes up the 6" center of a log cabin, with 12" stars sprinkled randomly. The backing is 12" squares of various snowflake prints. Quilting is a 90 degree rainbow shape across each block.

Tonga Treats Sunburst Table Runner

I took a table runner class at my Local Sewing machine shop. I made a herringbone table runner using triangles on a roll to paper piece it. Couple of pointers -- invest in a 1/4" foot (You'll be glad you did) and a small stitch length (1MM - 1.6MM) perforates the paper more and makes tearing it off at the end so much easier (of course the downside is that it is so hard to rip out a seam!) I started with 1MM and after having to rip out a seam, switched to 1.6MM. It did make the paper a little harder to remove.
