    Fun and easy. I really do appreciate a quilt w/o a border. Not sure why but they are my least fave part. I would think about adding borders next time to make this larger. It finished at 60 x 60. This is a free pattern from Lella Boutique. Oh, this uses 2 charmpacks which is usually what I buy when I love a line.     This is a 39" x 48" baby quilt, pattern is called Charming Stripes. Pattern is in a book called Just One Charm Pack by Cheryl Brickley. Great for using up a leftover charm pack or some leftover squares. Patterns incorporate yardage with the charm pack. I used Moda Little Duckling Charm pack

    Patriotic Memory Quilt

    This is a 35" x 35" wall hanging. I made this for a woman who lost 2 sons in their 40's to heart disease, and they were both Veterans. Across the top I put the Name (which I've blocked out for privacy) and the branch of service emblem for each son. Across the bottom, the words Honor Remember Cherish Love. I wanted the elements to be subtle and incorporated into the quilt, and have a patriotic feel. The piecing was a little tricky, so I quilted each block instead of an all-over quilting. I did it with rulers on a Babylock Tiara.

    This is a Maple Hill Design pattern. It uses a charm pack. It’s 64 by 64. It still needs to be trimmed and bound. I’m giving it to a military member for his wedding. I also bought a picnic basket to use the quilt as a picnic quilt. One of Jenny’s ideas.

    I was inspired by Jenny's Baby Blocks Quilt. I decided to use charms squares instead of 2 1/2" squares. I ended up with huge white corners and triangles. It took several months to decide on the appliqué design to fill all the white space and another year to finish all the appliqué. I think Kendyl is going to love it because she loves purple!

  • Dad's 95th Birthday Present
    Dad's 95th Birthday Present

    This quilt started as a way to use up some of my stash. The solids were from a charm pack and the background was left over from another projects. I decided to build on half square triangles and played with various layouts. It is such a cheerful quilt, I decided to give it to my dad for his 95th birthday. Then I decided to make it extra special by having all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and various spouses, sign it. I think there are 30 signatories.

    I made a quick lap quilt for my mother after her hip replacement surgery in 2021. I named it “Strong”. It took a long time to talk my mother into having surgery. Finally at age 87 she agreed and was willing to be strong. The quilt label has a small message embroidered on it.

    Made for my 8 year old grandson with “sports” as was his request! Used some fabric from stash that he has either liked or was with me when I bought it. Also used an old flannel shirt pocket. He uses it for one of his little “stuffies” stuffed animals. It is made with flannel, fleece, cotton fabrics and backed with a solid piece of flannel.

    This is my first quilt project. I made this quilt for our new great granddaughter. The fabric is Crayola’s Colorful Friends. Both pattern and fabric were purchased at the Missouri Star Quilt store in Hamilton, Mo. Jenny Doan made this pattern from a quilt that was made for her when she was young by a lady from her church.
