    It was the largest natural disaster in the USA, the community in OSO, a mud slide. 44 died and over 18 acres. They started to request quilts as it was in the late winter. So we got our family together and started sewing. The FEMA center was one block behind our house. So here are pics of the a couple of the FEMA staff receiving the quilts with my granddaughter and grandson and my wife Cathy. We used 4 patch block and 9 patch and pinwheels so we could get them down quick. It is always a blessing to give it away.

    I had been watching Missouri Star Quilt Co's daily deal for a while...trying to decide on a charm pack for my granddaughter. She was here the day Happy Flappers was the deal of the day. I ordered 3 charm packs, planning a Falling Charms quilt. She was here the day they came, and she laid them out till three charms formed a heart. And she said, 'Oh, Mamaw, look a heart. You can make me a heart quilt...' So, my 5 yr old granddaughter had a hand in designing her first quilt.

This the 2nd quilt I have done the scalloped edge on which is quite challenging but beautiful. Machine quilted on my home machine which is also a challenge.

    My Mom was fighting cancer .... and had to give up her home and move in with my sister ... this was hard on her ... from her own space to a small hospital type bed in a little bedroom .. I made Mom this quilt with love to be there with her even when I could not be there .... Mom loved this quilt ... sadly it is back home with Me now.

    I made this quit for my granddaughter's 18th birthday. She suffers from periodic depression and I wanted something that she could wrap up in when she's feeling down that would give her comfort and security. I used bright, happy colors and quilted it in the Angel Wings pantograph which adds to it's purpose. I got the pattern from Jenny Doan's magazine, but when I began putting the blocks together, I thought it was too busy so I started rearranging them and this is what I came up with. My granddaugher tells me all the time how much she enjoys this quilt.
