Night Stars

I made this quilt as a free Craftsy BOM in 2015 / 2016. The quilt design is called Night Stars by Kimberly Einmo. It is the first quilt I have created with a black background. I thoroughly loved working with the Anthology batiks in bright colors. I decided to use it for custom longarm quilt practice since the design had the opportunity for two different border patterns and lots of fills. The result is that I am in love with the BACK of the quilt! Cheers! Happy Quilting. Never discount a kit. It can still turn in to an individual beauty!

Tooie's 90th Birthday

My grandmother, who's nickname is Tooie, turned 90 last September (2015) and I wanted to make a special gift for her. I had just started quilting and wanted to make on for her to keep her warm and feel loved. This was my second quilt I have ever made- I was lucky because the pinwheels were pre-cut by an Accuquilt machine. i quilted by stitching in the ditch so that when it's turned to the back there is a pretty criss-cross pattern. She was so surprised and she uses it all the time. I'm so glad I made it!

Little Miss Sunshine

I fell in love with Lella Boutique's new line "Little Miss Sunshine" and I bought a couple charm packs on pre-sale. I wanted to make something a little more traditional but with a twist. I found the tutorial "Great Granny Squared" on the Moda Bakeshops site and knew it was perfect. This also was my first time to machine bind and I love it!

First Quilt!

I follow Amanda Rolfe (@3and3quarters) on YouTube and she had a Quilt-Along-With-Me last year. I thought that the timing was perfect since I wanted to learn how to piece and quilt. I followed along (she gives clear instructions) and I even kind of imitated her fabric choices- funky geometric print with white background. The backing is a large piece of decorator cotton-weight Marimekko that was a bit too narrow so I made borders to it as a pieced back. I decided to straight stitch quilt it with the quilting to be heavy lines. I am in love with this quilt!! It's everything I wanted it to be!

Modern Plaid

This quilt is my brother Kavan's. It reminded me of him, modern, but classic. i used mostly Kona solids. All the blues and grays are Kona, there was an American Made and Bella in the red/gold row. It was a pattern out of a Quilty magazine. I made strip sets, intead of cutting every square, and I think it saved me quite a bit of time. I'd make it again, for sure. I really like the finished product.

Sturbridge Old Towne
