Monkeys II

I made this baby quilt for my goddaughter's new baby girl. Since my goddaughter loves monkeys, it made sense to name this one Monkeys II. Using the Irish Chain blocks and paw print fabric, I tried to show that the monkeys are moving from block to block.

Baseball and Bacon

This quilt is for my goddaughter's son who loves baseball and, you guessed it, bacon. I needed a bit more color for this disappearing 9-patch so I added the curly fry and hotdog fabrics and staying with the major theme of the quilt. His room is grey and red which is why I chose those colors for the borders.

Saw MSQC tutorials on the Disappearing 4 Patch and the Exploding Block. The 4 patch I used material from my stash plus off white. Just used the 2 colors. The exploding block I used material from my stash a juvenile print and ended up with a child's quilt.

Nick's quilt

He's a K-State Fan and my nephew, I had four friends help me make the front of the quilt, triple Irish Chain Quilt. My friends and I make quilt for kids 0-18 who are hurting from medical reasons or emotional. Some kids end up with a lot of time in the hospital and a quilt is comfort. Nick had a car accident in Nov 2014. We made a quilt. I had my boys hold the quilt for me.

Vintage Moments

I made this in a class at my LQS. It was sooo challenging for me. Initially, I disliked the quilt because of all the difficulties I had with it and couldn't stand the thought of trying to quilt it myself on my domestic machine. (besides the fact that it may have been impossible). So I had a local longarm quilter do it for me. She did an awesome job. Now that some months have passed, this quilt has become one of my favorites.

This is my first quilt. I made it without a pattern, so I don't know what it is called. It reminds me of saw blades. I made it for my son. Looking back at it, I can see that a couple of my background fabrics stood out too much, but it doesn't matter because my son loved it.
