This pattern looked like the perfect one for my grandson. The tan fabric is the walkway, the light blue is the wall and the dark blue is the wall shadow. It was so much fun to make, following the path as I finished each block. It really works and goes back and forth thru most of the quilt.

Stop quilting and go fly a kite

I was at a quilt retreat and had brought many fabrics and ideas and decided on the tipsy tumble quilt. I got out my template and started cutting and about 3/4 of the way through I thought this doesn't look right. Welll...I had used the wacky web template instead. After muttering under my breath a "nasty" word, I remembered that Jenny said that any template would work. So I finished the top and added little kite tails and love it. Quilted with a stipple stitch and variegated thread, the back is spools of thread fabric and the binding was measure twice fabric.

Dragon's Dragon Quilt

Cookie Exchange/Challenge

A quilting group I belong to decided to exchange fabric strips rather than cookies for our December meeting. We were to bring 42 assorted strips in a spring theme, could be cut from yardage or a jelly roll. We each chose 42 strips (not ones we brought) and the challenge was to have a project made for the January meet. I don't much care for the scrappy look but with 42 miss matched fabrics that's pretty much what you get.

Christmas Gifts

Our granddaughter loves to ride her horse, she also jumps with her horse. Rides English style. Her Mom always wears a apron when she cooks or bakes and recently went to Paris on a vacation. So the Apron is for her. I have some quilts and table runners but need bindings yet so will share those maybe next week.

Denim and Diamonds Lattice

I had a few yards of a pretty pansies print which I thought reminded me of a garden. I wanted lattice, but not squares, so I used my Super Hexi Ruler to create 5 1/2'' diamonds. I then sashed it with 1 1/2'' lattice denim coloured fabric. I did not want this quilt to scream, since the pansies were so delicate. Since I am new to quilting, it was challenging to work with biased cut diamonds, to match lattice work. I persevered but it only took me roughly 10 days to complete and quilt. It measures 55'' x 70''. Since I consider many of my first quilts, as practise quilts, I may see if there is any interest to sell this one. If not, it will be gifted.
