Black Pond

I seen this pattern in a magazine, don't remember which one. I knew that I wanted to make one. I started in the middle of this one, I used a "cheap" jelly roll with variegated grays. I had to kinda plan how the grays were going to navigate outward. I like the other two colors which help to define the block. Simply quilting. lap size. We travel with this one in the winter time. It comes along just in case.

Keep On Truckin' in Denim

My brother in law is a trucker. HIs wife asked if I would make her husband a quilt for his truck. This is what I thought would work best for him. I used worn out pants to make the blocks and larger sizes of fabric. I used flannel for the backing. I quilted his name, phone number, his wife's number and address on his quilt, plus Keep On Truckin'. The reason for all the info on the quilt is, that here where I live, a man was found dead in his truck at our one truck stop some yrs. ago.

Fat Quarter Camper Quilt

Found this Fat Quarter bundle and wanted to make these prints into a summer quilt for our camper. I used flannel for the batting and quilted each fat quarter. Then put them together with the sashing, flannel inside each sashing piece, since they are wide. I tried to play with some quilting patterns, thought this would be a great place to do some of those motifs that doesn't really matter if they are perfect or not, just wanted the practice space, this worked out great.

What a Gem

I used a pattern by Fun and Done, a quilt as you go project. I don't remember the name of the block. I had won a bundle of black and white fat quarters and wasn't quite sure what to do with them. A cousin was getting her second grandchild and asked me to make a quilt for the new baby. This is what I came up with. Not your traditional style, but it worked. I used freezer paper to "write" on a blank block to label the quilt.

Modern X pattern

While searching Pinterest one evening I saw this pattern from the Craftsy Midnight quilt show and thought, how cute is that. Of course, mine did not turn out quite as hers did. I cut into the strips a little too much and ended up piecing four blocks together. But, all-in-all, I am still happy with it.
