During my retreat at MSQC, the Crafty Gemini taught us her paper pieced Any Which Way mini quilt. I used the beautiful Handcrafted collection from Alison Glass and made mine a little bigger than Vanessa's. I also added an extra border and some additional big stitch quilting. I am so in love with the end result!!

Minnie Mouse In The House

This is a quilt I made for my son's girlfriend. She loves anything Disney. She is also 21 so I didn't want to make it too young. It was a challenge. I had a pattern for the blocks but had to figure the rest out. Ran out of blocks twice, ran out of white fabric, ran out of white thread. I call it my adapt and overcome quilt. I am so happy with the results I had to share before it was quilted. The backing will be pink and white poka dots.

Retirement gift

Made this quilt for my brother as he retires for the second time. He retired after 26 years in the Navy and is now retiring as a hospital administrator in NC. Love him!! Pattern is "Bleachers" from MSQC. This is the first "real" quilt I have ever made-- from a pattern, with a real binding, etc. Just used straight line quilting with my walking foot. Lots of flaws but I had a lot of fun making it and am looking forward to my next project.

Confetti Race

This is a take off of the Jelly Roll Race 3.0 quilt. Instead of white triangles, I used white strips. The strips are WOF cut in half so I ended up with more triangles. The triangles are scraps. I made a wavy edge and a patterned fabric for backing. The quilting is straight line in the center and interior border and stipple in the exterior border. This was a fun and easy quilt to make.

Badlands star

I made this quilt for my father-in-law. Hee is an amazing wood carver. He had his 80th birthday this summer and all of the kids made it home for his celebration. I wanted to honor him, but also know how he is about things that are fussy. What better than a large star quilt. Rather than using fussy prints I used basis that reminded me of north Dakota.
