Elijah's Graduation Quilt

For my nephew's high school graduation. Inspiration was a block that looked like an S. Fabrics: solids are Peppered Cottons jelly roll by Studio E fabrics with lots of fat quarters representing my nephew's interests and fun times spent with him. Backed with fleece and quilted on my mom's 1956 Singer that I learned to sew on.

Crossroads

This is a free quilt pattern from Bear Creek called "Nordic Playlist" but I call my quilt "Crossroads." It was a very easy quilt using jelly rolls from the Bluebell fabric line by Nancy Gere for Windham Fabrics. Since the Bluebell fabric is no longer available, I had a difficult time finding a suitable border. Then I saw the blue "Secret Garden" fabric in my stash that I had obtained from a yard sale and it seemed to work fine. My daughter loved the Secret Garden border and has since claimed this quilt.

Twirling Jewel

I was fascinated by the quilts displayed in "One Wonderful Curve" which uses the Quick Curve Ruler. It inspired me to make my first attempt with sewing curve pieces. It seems to have a modern look to it. I quilted an all over leaf design in the body of the quilt. The way that the petals seem to skip across the quilt made me long for the coming spring.
