I made this quilt for the couple that purchased our last house. They were moving back to be near family as she had cancer that had come out of remission. I wanted to give her something bright and cheerful to have at the hospital to remind her of Hawaii, where they were moving from. Sadly she died the morning I finished it. We gave it to her husband, in memory, for their young daughter. Pattern is Breezy from Growing Up Modern.

Scrap Happier

This is my version of a pattern from Better Homes and Gardens- Scrap Happy. I loved the bright cheeriness of the American Jane fabrics, thus ensued a month long internet search to find and match them. First project setting on point and I have to say it was harder than I expected. I had to rip out seams several times to get the center layout right. In the end it was smaller than I wanted, so I adapted the original pattern with the white sashing and coin strips before the final borders.

Another 50th birthday celebration quilt

This was for my friend Mohan who turned 50 in 2013. This was the sequel to my second quilt. I used the remaining half square triangles and made a V. I have some more squares that are left over, but I could not use them because of the limitations of the design and time constraints. Overall, I am pleased with it.

50th celebration quilt

This was for my friend who turned 50 in 2013. This was my second quilt. She loves ethnic bright colors, so I chose a very colorful layer cake. However, it was too busy when I tried to use the whole layer cake. Then I thought of using white fabric and making half square triangles. It was challenging for me to piece it since I was not very experienced. It was fun designing it.

Aurelie's Quilt

The first border is also very 20s art deco and I was very pleased with the way it turned out.
