I fell in love with this cute material so I copied and enlarged the doggie in it and created an appliqué for the center of a star and made nine patch stars for the rest of the quilt. it is in the hoop now but needs to be finished by next weekend for a baby shower gift.

Midnight Garden

My objective when I designed.this quilt was to use batiks in blocks with a black background. The center applique has the same batiks as the pieced blocks. This is the first quilt that I used the free hand heart pattern on the long arm.

Grandma Flowers

I made this quilt for my aunt. My grandma always had amaryllis growing around her house & our family called them "Grandma Flowers". My aunt loved the quilt. It is about 48 x 56 inches. The "brick" wall background is pieced from scraps. The batik flowers are appliqued. Top part of the quilt is machine quilted around random blocks and the bottom part is FMQ. I found the amaryllis flower design in a stained glass book at the library. For the label I used a picture of grandma's house.

Tango

Tango started as a picture of a Siamese kitty that my sister owned that I turned into a quilt for myself but when I went to make the same quilt for her the Siamese appliques kept getting reversed. So instead I used a picture of her Tango kitty to create the kitty. And when I went to pull fabric to make the backing I didn't have enough of any one color so I pieced it from 9 batik fat quarters.
