    Update: Quilted and bound. - A breast cancer survivor requested a pink ribbon quilt. She wanted a big ribbon in the center. I added some light green for accent. I modified Jordan fabrics Ribbon pattern to include a pieced rectangle that I could applique a pink ribbon onto. This is what I came up with. 55 x 75"

    I tried some English paper piecing. This pattern was purchased at a guild meeting and altered to fit my needs. Machine quilting rather than hand piecing. I decided to use some charm squares that had been patiently waiting in a basket and went shopping for a solid ombré fabric at my local quilt shop. It was a fun, quick project and the first to be completed in 2019!

    Every fall we go to the mountains to hear the Elk bugle. This week I started my Mountain Wildlife quilt blocks. The first block is of an elk. I used fall colors and added a bit of texture. The antlers are made of wool felt. Hopefully the bear claw is next so stay tuned.

    When I saw Jenny’s tutorial using the new double wide Dresden ruler, I knew I had to make a quilt with it. Not only did I make my quilt but I taught a class! My quilt is on a shimmery lavender background and will go on my king size bed. I made extra blocks to get the bigger size. The fabric has been in my stash over five years just waiting for the right project. It was perfect for this one.

  • Airplanes for a Baby Boy
    Airplanes for a Baby Boy

    One of the young Moms at church is about to have her 8th baby. She has never had a quilt...so I made this one for her. The fabric is Little Flyers by Riley Blake. I saw a similar quilt on Pinterest so I drew the applique planes. I used Baby ricrac to simulate the exhaust on the planes and colored buttons to simulate attaching the engine propeller. I backed the quilt with soft and warm minky. I also made an airplane receiving blanket and two matching burp cloths.
