I love batiks, the color purple & that gadget called the twister tool. The colors of the swirely remind me of tulips and the border fabric has snowflakes, which remind me that spring is always full of surprises.

Good ol' Red, White and Blue

I wanted to make a wedding present for my brother-in-law and his new bride so I decided on red, white, and blue and went with a strip quilt (or jelly roll quilt) so it would come together quickly and used all my red, blue and white scraps. I quilted it with free motion loops and it came out nicely! Hope they will love it!

Baby Talk Quilt

For my daughter's first baby shower I hand made this quilt. I was so fulfilling when she opened it and the quests where in awe. Ha ha The fabric was so cute and cuddly. The quilt is a sashed nine patch cut and turned in different directions with no seams to match.

Paper Pieced Periwinkle

I used scraps and cut charm squares for this paper pieced version of the Periwinkle quilt, also known as Arkansas Star. Adding the sashing made quick work of assembling the blocks.

Batik Coin Quilt

I bought a grab bag of batik scraps for $6 and was dismayed at first to see how small the scraps were. But an idea appeared in my head for a coin quilt so I went home and kind of just put one together with only an image in my mind to go by. My daughter was going through a bitter divorce and feeling pretty low so I gave it her as a reminder that when our lives are in pieces, if we put our minds to it, we can make something beautiful out of it. She loved that and she loved the quilt.
