Ryan's Tower Disappearing Hourglass Quilt

My 30 y/o son is 6'8" and has always complained that his feet froze while watching TV in his recliner because his feet were never covered. I needed a quilt pattern that would work no matter how long I needed to make it. I saw the video for the Disappearing Hourglass and knew that it would be perfect. And then, a Stonehenge Layer Cake of Lakeside was on the MSQC Daily Deal and everything fell into place! This quilt is 52 x 106. He can cuddle under this quilt from head to toes! I have to admit, I had a hard time on my first few blocks so I literally drove from San Antonio to Houston to meet Jenny in person at the 2014 Houston Quilt Fest. I explained my troubles to her and she said, "2-1/8 from center seam". Perfect! Every block after that was perfect!

Kitty Quilt

I love cats. I am a cat person. I have no less than 5 cats in my home at any given time and they are my kids in every way. Therefore in order to honor them and my love for them, I made a patchwork quilt consisting solely of novelty fabrics featuring cats. I used dozens of different prints varying from cutesy to photo quality. There are hundreds of cat fabrics out there! This made my fabric selection both fun and difficult. I got most of my choices at cat fabrics.org. If you haven't checked them out, I highly recommend it. They also have dog prints and their prices are very reasonable. Plus they support pet charities with your purchases I may even make another cat quilt at some point - there are just so many fabrics out there I can't stand it! :)

Grimm quilt

I saw this quilt on the TV show Grimm and I had to make it. So I let my fingers do the clicking and found out that the quilt was a Sudoku quilt kit. I found a kit, bought it and made it. I love how bright and fun it is.
