I made this for my daughter's 7th birthday. She picked the pattern Madame butterfly from Vanessa Goertzen's book Charm School. Her favorites colors are pink and blue so Riley Blake's fabric collection Posy Garden by Carina Gardner seemed like a natural choice! The pattern makes use of the beautiful floral charm squares perfectly. My daughter was very surprised and loves to snuggle under it and watch movies with her mum. Hopefully this will be cherished for many years to come!

Strips & Four Patch

I tried this pattern after viewing the MSQC tutorial for the Strips and Four Patch quilt. I quilted the main quilt with stitch in the ditch. On the borders I used a Borders Made Easy adhesive pattern. On the corners I attempted FMQ to tie in the side border patterns. I used the Van Gogh Jelly roll with matching fabrics for the borders and the backing.

Kaleidoscope Quilt

I saw this quilt kit at Jordon Fabrics and had to try it. I was surprised how easy it went together. Of course it helped that all the pieces were pre-cut for me. :-) Only the top is finished. Looking for the perfect backing fabric. I will probably send this one into MSQC to quilt it for me.

Alphabet Quilt

Started in 1959. My Grandmother broke her ankle and my Mom and I used a color book and carbon paper to trace the pictures onto quilt blocks. My Grandmother embroidered 4 or 5 of the blocks then my Mom did some and I finally finished them in the early 2000's. With the help of 2 quilting groups I got some good ideas for the sashing and the 4 patched down the sides to make the quilt wider. I quilted it on my Gammill long arm. After 58 years it is finally done!
