I shouldn't admit it again, but I miss cut the fabric for Donna Jordan's Hip To Be Square pattern. This quilt is for my cousin, diagnosed with bone cancer. Lots of prayers went into the hours making the 'remade' version of this quilt. I chose the Patriot Jelly Roll from Timeless Treasures to create this quilt since my cousin's family had been traveling all across the country in their Air Stream camper with their parents.

Another Set of Twin Quilts ~ Boy

What a blessing to have two sets of twins born within a month. This set is also a girl & a boy. They will be born the first week of August. The fabric line is My ABC Book by by Darlene Zimmerman for Robert Kaufman. I was able to distinguish boy from girl by accenting the center of the star with the same border and binding fabrics for each. I again used my quick go to free pattern, Mode Love Star.I back the quilt with pre-washed Matching animal print flannel. I made two matching pure cloths. I also made a diaper changing pad with the leftover charms. I added a double layer of batting in the pad. The changing pad is backed with a matching dot cotton. The quilting is a matching blue thread in teddy bears.

Cardinals for Sister JD

A very dear friend has devoted 60+ years to serving God as a Nun. She is retired now but still works with those in need. She is a real "prayer warrior" and such an amazing human being. She absolutely loves cardinals, so I had the twelve blocks machine embroidered by a very sweet lady. She even made a 13th block for a pillow. I used a very textured white minkey on the back. the quilting is simple stipple around the birds, feathers in the border and a simple loop in the little sashing blocks with white thread. We will be traveling back east this summer to give it to her in person. I just added a new photo of Sr. JD with her new quilt.

Brown town 2

I had a large number of brown 2 1/2" squares and a friend I wanted to make a quilt for - so I put the two together. This is my own design. I sewed the squares into nine-patches then used a 1" strip to put them together. Before sewing I planned where I would insert the blue strips so that they cross over and under each other. Each of the blue rectangles is a different fabric. I'm a lousy photographer so the pic isn't great.

My favorite souvenir

My husband and I just completed a cross country trip generated by my wish to go to Hamilton, Missouri. I kept a small tote by my feet for the month long trip. I decided that the souvenir material i purchased would make a great bag for traveling. I added a zippered inside pocket and a pencil pocket to the Swoon pattern. The lining is MSQC birdies.
