LSU Quilt

I used a technique that I found in Marti Michell's book called "Machine Quilting in Sections" to construct this quilt. I wanted to reduce bulk so that I wouldn't have to wrestle with it so much as I quilted it. I used longarm rulers to create the balls that I quilted on it.

I made each of my kids a quilt for their beds when they were night-time potty trained. This is the one for my youngest. She picked out the fabrics (greatly surprising me with her choice of batiks!!) and an HST design. The back is a minky that she fell in love with. The minky was slippery to baste and bind, but quilted really nicely.
