    I made this quilt at a quilt retreat several years ago. It was the only project I worked on that weekend and it took me the entire weekend to create it. I can't remember what the pattern was called, but I loved it. I used colorwashed batik fabrics.

    This is a quilt I made for a very special friend who spends all of her extra time doing kind things for others. There is no one in the world like her, so I made this one of a kind quilt to honor her. I actually used a nice quilters flannel on the back so that it would be extra cozy for cuddling with, curled up on the couch.

    A year and one/half ago I was not a quilter. Saw a quilt though that I had to have and that was the start of it all. It is somewhat of a sorry mess, but still a great cover-up on the couch. Since then I have made twelve more quilts, each time getting better. Love batiks but have now started to move into other fabrics too.

    I got the free tutorial for this from The Village Haberdashery's blog, The Daily Stitch. My main difficulty was cutting out the triangles as my ruler wasn't long enough. A bit of creativity by the guys at work and boom! The idea is that you thread ribbon or cord through the handles on the outside edges and pull them together making the mat into a loose bag so it's portable. I gave this to Bailey as his christening gift.

    I made this wall hanging for my daughter and her best friend, Wendy the wonder dog. I used colors for a golden retriever and adjusted other elements to compliment the night sky. I sewed tiny crystal beads to the stars in a few places. This was a Christmas present and I had a blast doing the appliqué.

    I saw this quilt idea online - using nine fat quarters and cutting them into strips. I needed to do something quick - this was simple and I had my aunt's favorite colors all on hand to make it. Got it done and sent to her while she was still in the hospital. She said it made her feel better knowing it was a long distance hug from me. She must have felt the 'healing powers' - she left the hospital two days later!
