I made this scrappy Dresden Quilt for my daughter's guest bedroom in her new house. I quilted it with Wasatch Design "Bubbly Flowers", and used Omni Buff thread and Hobb's Tuscany Collection Supreme 100% unbleached cotton batting. I used 1.5" strips for the sashing and 9 patch corner stones. 96" x 96"

Pandemic Chaos

This quilt is the Moda Blockheads 3 quilt. It was a block a week for all of 2020. I worked on it the whole time I was in lockdown from the Covid 19 pandemic. When I finally finished putting all of the blocks together, the quilt felt very chaotic to me and the pandemic was a chaotic time so I thought that Pandemic Chaos was an appropriate name for this quilt. It will be gifted to my sister-in-law Shelli.

Oh My Stars

I found a terrific pattern in a quilt book. My daughter and I both decided to make it and see how different they would turn out. The original pattern had unfinished stars at the top and bottom so I modified the pattern but had to learn how to do a Y seam in the process. I found this great method for Y seams that made it so easy that I was able to finish in a fraction of the time I thought it would take! I also modified the sides again to avoid having only 1 star leg. I learned how to work with angles and with the practice on this pattern, I'll be less likely to avoid patterns with triangles.

Corona Quilt Number 5

My sister loves flamingos and hopes to move to Florida in the next year or two. I found a set of 7 fat quarters on line. Three have flamingos ant the rest tropical foliage. The prints were too large to piece blocks, so I used cut the quarters into squares. I left the flamingo squares as is and found a diamond patterned for the rest. I won’t be able to get it quilted until after the holidays.

Garden Stroll

Update: I finished hand binding this quilt. My friend (Patti Hutchins) free motion quilted daisies on this quilt on her long arm. I just finished piecing this Garden Stroll quilt top from American Patchwork and Quilting June 2013. I fell in love with this pattern when I saw it online. I used fabrics in teal, turquoise, aqua, and burgundy through light pink. I added two additional borders to make it queen size. This quilt is for my mother in law. 95" square

Cowboy Quilt

My college-aged son needed a quilt for his queen-sized bed - he is over 6'3" so I made it a long queen quilt! At the time we had horses and he rode regularly and lived in jeans and riding boots. It took me a long time to make and even longer to quilt on my domestic vintage machines, but I presented it to him on his birthday and he loves it!

Pink and gray "Ribbons" quilt

I finished hand binding this quilt. My friend Patti Hutchins quilted swirls on her long arm. I gave this quilt to my friend as a birthday present. I starting making this quilt while I was finishing my previous pink and gray Jordan Fabrics "Ribbons" pattern quilt (gift for a friend of a friend). I added an extra border to this quilt to make it a lot bigger. I put special blocks in corners of the last border. 89" x 93".

Good Times Ruby Rue

I wanted to complete a challenge to make a red quilt (using reds and neutrals) to celebrate the ruby anniversary of my local guild. I found this kit and thought it fit the bill perfectly. The pineapple effect was achieved by adding strips to an initial square, and then snowballing the corners before adding another row of strips.
