started this for my grandson when he started school. Had some health issues and lost my mojo! Started getting it back last fall by attending The Garden of Quilts in UT! Had started with school ground panel but now grand is very interested on construction equipment. Short of tossing and starting again, i just added all kinds of things. I used a layer cake of construction and some jelly roll strips plus the panel. Appliquéd his name on top and used my quilt software to do some big equipment and construction signs along bottom border. I totally forgot to add batting but thought it might be ok because now it is lighter and easier to drag around and wrap with. It’s not as nice. I hope i dont make that mistake again!

Cupcake Paper Piecing

These were a bunch of charms through a pieces of paper. I whacked them all out and sewed them up into the same pattern. Then using the rest of the charms as themselves, I laid out this design. Not catching until it was all finished that one of the little critters had a mistake! Figured it might make for a fun “treasure hunt.” A medium meander through out the backing and of course the outline of the design squares to make it all pop.

Simply Serene

Made this large throw for a guy who had gifted me a drawing of a mansion near where I grew up. A simple thank you was not enough. The pattern is Simply Serene by Annies Catalog. I used mostly 2 Moda Charm Packs (Astra and Decorum- basic grey) but supplemented it with some fabric from my stash. The dark blue and other various shades for the triangles and borders were shades of Moda Grunge. The back is flannel. It was quilted by our local long arm quilter.
