Binding Tool Star in bedroom colors

This was posted pre-quilted. It's now finished and some viewers wanted to see it completed. So here is how I did mine. The two bottom photos...one is the center design, the white flecks are from the freezer paper that was stuck in all the threads. The one on the right is a closer look at the quilting. I had not put a border around it, till after the body of the quilt was finished. I know that the colors don't quite match, but it's mine and it's ok with me. I couldn't find the tutorial on the MSQC site down below, but it's called Binding Tool Star. I am sure most if not all of us have seen it.

Jelly roll

This quilt was a Christmas gift for my husband. I quilted along a jelly roll, I really enjoyed making this one. The quilting part was made on my treadle machine. I used to really enjoy sewing with her (not so much to thread her, though!)

Into the Woods

My daughter asked me to make a quilt for her boyfriend of three years. We looked for fabric together and she ended up selecting the "Wild at Heart" layer cake by Riley Blake. As it turned out, I had also picked up a layer cake of this fabric as a daily deal. He is very tall so we needed both layer cakes. This one is 80 x 101, the largest quilt I've made to date. After looking at the fabric I decided I didn't want to cut it up into small pieces. I remembered Jenny's Super Simple Squares. Jenny used charms but I used the layer cake. It was backed in snuggly Shannon black fabric. I really like how it turned out. Better yet, he loved it!

Laundry Basket Quilts Alaskan Holiday

Taylor pattern memory quilt

Update: I just finished hand binding. I quilted with Urban Elementz "Celtic Curlz" pattern. I added a black batik border. My son wanted it quilted to death. :-) --- I just finished piecing this GE Designs "Taylor" pattern memory quilt. This is the third quilt that I have made using ties from my friend that passed away in September 2019. This quilt is for my son. Batik in blue

As I moved along in my quilting journey, I have pretty much settled on completing one big quilt a year. Last it was my sister's turn for a quilt, and boy did it test me. This is by far, the biggest quilt I have ever attempted, and I didn't even quilt it myself.
