    I wanted to do a Quilt of Valor and finally had the time. This was for the widow of one of my husband's good friends growing up. He passed away several years ago and had served in Vietnam. I used the Friendship Star Sashing Tutorial from Missouri Star. Took me a while but finally finished and presented to her the week of Veterans Day

    My niece loves cats so I decided to use the Churn Dash quilt pattern as the foundation of this quilt for my niece Kelly - thank you Jenny Doan, I couldn’t have done it without you! I free motion quilted it myself, painstakingly drawing the designs using templates and good ole friction pens (love them) - my first ever! Although not perfect,I think it turned out beautifully and she loved it! I do too. I appliqued the cats, another first for me.

    I've been using up my scraps left over from other quilts and projects. This table runner was made up with left over pieces of my children's college themed quilts, and now makes a great table decoration for their home as they are devoted alumni. It is adapted from the tutorial "Turnabout Granny Squares Quilt" by Jenny. The reverse side is the "Hexigon Pumpkin Table Runner" pattern from the tutorial by Jenny and Missouri Star Quilt Company, also created from scraps. My scrap pile is diminishing, slowly!

    This table runner was created after watching MSQC tutorial Christmas Tree Table runner, using the half hexigon template. 10 inch squares were used from Under the Pines Favorites 10 Karat Crystals by Color Bakery for Wilmington Prints. The table runner is reversible, and the reverse side is the MSQC tutorial pattern of Turnabout Granny Squares. I used scrappy fabrics from my stash for the reverse side.

It was created with 10 inch precuts from Terrarium Favorites Green Palette by Elizabeth Hartman for Robert Kaufman, and I added cornerstones and sashing. A desert colored queen sized quilt for my son and daughter-in-law who live in the desert!

    Update: Quilted and bound: I used cuddle Luxe on the back. It's so soft and feels like fur. - I just finished this Charms on Point quilt top for a friends grandson. The nursery theme is aquatic. I love the colors in this Octopus Garden layer cake. I added a pop of purple for the small border.

    Update: Finished binding. Used Cuddle Luxe on the back. It's so soft. Feels like fur. - I just finished this MSQC Charms on Point quilt top for a friend's grandchild. I love the colors in this Octopus Garden layer cake. I added a pop of green for the small border. These were leftover 5 inch squares from previous Charms on Point quilt. I love how different borders change the look of a quilt. Previous quilt pictured also. I changed my borders from the tutorial since I like smaller borders.

    My cousin's grandson was admitted straight to ICU with a very high blood sugar. He was so scared he was going to die. It broke my heart to hear of his fear. While I understood why he assumed the worst, I wanted to give him something to surround him with love and prayers.
