Beach blanket

I found this Moda layer cake, Sanibel, and I had to make a little something for my dear grand babe. I cut the squares in half, added sashing, and based on a a quilt by Riley Blake I came up with this. I didn't put any batting in the middle but I backed it with toweling. Blanket on the top, towel on the back it's the perfect beach blanket!

Using up my 'stash'!

I've promised myself I wouldn't buy any more fabric until I had at least made a BIG dent in the fabric I already have on hand - I had some reproduction fabric from a mill that was not far from my home town in New Hampshire. It isn't my 'style' anymore but I wanted to use it just the same -- and thought making some table runners would be a good use for it.

Baby Girl Quilt

I just finished this baby quilt for a co-worker who is having a little girl. She has two boys, so I wanted to make something very girly. I used the Rosey line by Tanya Whelan for Free Spirit Fabrics. I didn't have a pattern, made a bunch of QSTs and then made prairie points around the inner border. I got the prairie point idea from a pattern on Moda Bakeshop - Pinwheel Baby Quilt by Jodi Nelson. First time doing a scalloped border and Jenny's tutorial made it very easy. I FMQ it on my DHM doing a loop in each triangle and using a ruler for the outside border lines.

Disappearing Pinwheel

I almost put this one in the trash! I has such "odd" measurements to cut when the squares were ready to be separated that it wasn't working out too well...but a friend suggested that I add the appliqué and with my AccuQuilt Go, I cut the flowers, leaves and stems and added them. Now its one of my favorite quilts.
