Large Star

A wonderful couple loaned a travel trailer to my son (44 years old) so he could stay near MD Anderson in Houston the 100 days required after a stem cell transplant after chemotherapy for leukemia. I stayed there as his caregiver. It was a difficult time but made so much easier because of their generosity. I made this quilt for them to thank them!

I made an apron with quilters cotton for my granddaughter for Valentine's Day. She is only two but has been helping in the kitchen lately. I tweeked the pattern a bit and added an extra pocket and towel loop. She loved it!

Butterfly Girl

I always make a special card for a favourite cousin who celebrates her birthday in December. I based it on a picture I found on Pinterest. I used my scrap threads and Sulky solvy stabilizer to make her wings. I was really pleased with the outcome. It is free motion embroidery on a piece of Alison Glass fabric.

Have you seen this with the Alice in Wonderland fabrics? I had the Mystic fabrics; sure had no idea what to do with them until I saw this pattern. After a trip through a friends stash I was able to find the colors to finish the layout. Mostly just outlined with a bit of whimsy in the white and black areas.

Illusion

I saw a picture of a bright colorful quilt and thought I’d like to try to make one. I wanted to use leftover military fabrics of tanks, helicopters and Jeep’s for center row. I’m not sure how well I like how mine turned out with these fabrics. I hope I like it better once it’s quilted. I had a small piece of this fabric left from a quilt I made in March. I thought I would use it all up here but still have a small amount left. It’s not enough for binding unless I make a scrappy binding and that may be just what I end up doing as I hate waste. If anyone knows the name of the pattern I’d like to know so put it in a sticker note please. Thank you- Toogie

Tote Bags for Ploughing Competition

We recently travelled across to the other side of the country from Western Australia to Victoria for the State & National Ploughing Titles. My husband in the vintage class using his Vintage Grey Ferguson Tractor & vintage plough doing very well but missing a medal by a count back. Every girl needs a new tote when going on holiday, so I made these 2 bags for the occasion. I used hessian & gorgeous tractor fabric to keep with the theme.

A Quilt for Brax

My great nephews are both motor bike enthusiasts and Motor X champions in their age groups, having gained many titles during competitions throughout Western Australia. They live in the north of WA and travel all over the country to meetings and comps. Like all little champions kids can't thrive in any field without the love and wonderful support of their parents.
